Its that time of year again!!!
The finalists in the Eurovision song contest in Malmo in Sweden are listed below, with links to videos of their performances.
I have heard the favourite is Emmelie de Forest from Denmark. Emmelie is related to Queen Victoria, so she is probably also a relative of any royalty which may be in the audience.
The United Kingdom is showing its commitment to recycling by its representative, Bonnie Tyler, after Engelbert Humperdinck last year.

I can't believe this thing is still going. I think the last time I watched it was when Bucks Fizz won in 1981.
ReplyDeleteI take this as evidence for my theory that things change much less than most people think. 40 years ago, who would have thought there would still be a Miss America Pageant or a red carpet area at the Academy awards or Cannes?
DeleteExcept she's not a relative of any Queen. She's an impostor. http://dk.timefor.tv/artikler/300-endnu-en-mgp-broeler-tvivl-om-emmelie-de-forests-royale-aner
ReplyDeleteIt's at least good to see the oldies, like Bonnie and Englebert, getting a go in this recycling-frame-of-mind world, just like a few of those contestants on "The Voice". That reminds me, when you take your iPod on your next Camino journey, remember to download Bonnie Tyler's "Lost in France" to keep you company, just in case you actually do. Regards ChrisM.
