We assisted at Mass today in the church of Sint Carolus Borromeus, with the Sant'Egidio community in Antwerp. Indeed, they know the people Joe and I met in the Sant'Egidio community in New York. Both are very active communities, but it is unknown in Australia.
Hi Paul, I am pleased that you assisted at Mass, because there are too many retired Catholics who, rather than assisting, are desisting from attending Mass. By the way, I know that you are retired and Catholic, nbut ot a retired Catholic. I have a connection with St Charles Borromeo, because that was one of my many primary schools in Oz. Regards Chris
ReplyDeleteI was going to write attend, but the I thought assist was more theologically correct. Is that so?
DeleteTheCarus Borromeus looks very Jesuit, but it is not run by the Jesuits. I think it was taken from them in the 1600's.
It was good to meet some people there that I saw last year. They are a very energetic and practical group. I hope I can meet them again when I get back from France.
I was baptised at St Charles Borromeo Church (Rishton, Lancs, UK) and it was the name of my first primary school. He's the patron saint of catechists. enjoy your break,
