Cahors

I have a confession to make.
This morning we were preparing for a 22 km walk through the forest to a small gite that was still open. They didn't want to prepare a meal for only 3 people, so we had to cook for ourselves and there were not many shops near the gite. We had to work out what to buy and carry 10 or 20km for dinner. And it was raining.

Then the bus to Cahors appeared.

An uncharacteristically quick decision was made, here I am in Cahors, 2 days earlier than expected. I'm thinking of becoming a tourist and seeing if there are bus trips to Rocamadour and St Cirque Lapopie or other places.

This photo doesn't represent Cahors, it is much bigger than this, but it was taken near the tourist information office and I need to go there now.

Sante.

  2. If the photo is accurate what an incredible blue in the sky! Don't think anyone would question why you hopped on that bus - with the lack of a proper dinner awaiting and the rain drizzling down all day for 22km!!! Hope you did get to do a little more of the touristy thing! Elaine

  3. Recaught the travel bug today with your query about why I wasn't spending January in cold and snowy France with my rediscovered relatives rather than paying for A/C in hot Sydney, and with Scenic Tours advertising their new trips for 2014 to South Africa so rang and have the following brochures being sent out : Africa, Nth American History Trail, European River trips. All in style of course - so it's a complete pipe dream unless I happen to win Lotto! (Perhaps I should buy some tickets!) Am enjoying my new A/C with Sydney 35 degree day today - and bushfires raging in the Blue Mountains. Elaine
