I'll have neither, but you have both. I'm sure you did have a taste of both, because they are not just standing there for show, and the loving couple didn't take a selfie. Have you ever quaffed a Marckloff beer, brewed by la Ferme au Chene in Durbuy?
No, I haven't seen Markloff beer. There are some bars that pride themselves on having many beers, but I haven't been there. Durbuy is a long way from here. Why your interest in this particular beer?
Because I have Marckloffs in my family tree a long way back. They were German, not Belgian, but it doesn't seem to be that common a surname. My original Marckloff ancestor was a "scabinus" (in Latin) "schepen" (in Flemish) or Schöffe (in German). Some municipal office that sounds important, but don't know how important.
I prefer more macintosch, sweet candies in Belgium. Markloff beer is just one of the thousand house-brewing farmers in Belgium where Durbuy is the smallest city of Belgium. Another red candy "mon cherie".
The red looks good!
