Flemish history Paul. The Belgian national holiday is indeed the 21st of July 1831 but for the Flemish people it is the 11th of July 1302 and for the Walloon people the 27th of September. Complicated country with many holidays.
Do you have celebrations for any of the national days? I think I was always on holidays on 21st and 11th July, so I don't know what was happening in Belgium then.
