Yummm

I remember my parents once visiting me in Belgium and saying the strawberries here are delicious, much better than any in Australia.
They still are. Full of flavor and red all the way through, without the tasteless white centre that we get in Oz:

  1. Woolies and Coles don't operate over there and so maybe they don't spend so much time in the freezer.

  2. It is probably something to do with that. I once visited a glasshouse here which grew strawberries. You could pay for a bucket and pick them yourself, so I assume they ripened on the ground, not after being frozen. Maybe colder weather slows the process and helps as well.
