What a frightening storm last night - huge amounts of flooding and damage around Sydney especially it seems around Bexley. It's been freezing today - about 16 degrees in Sydney with heavy snow in the Blue Mountains, a year to the day after their disastrous bushfires. People today dressed in winter coats at the French lesson in Mosman. 3,000 homes lost power in NSW - most in the Blue Mountains. Three houses had fires caused by lightning and one burned down with a mother and 4 kids thankfully escaping whilst her volunteer husband was out helping others. Apparently the coldness was because Antarctic air got caught up in a low! Elaine
