Cajac

Pretty good weather at the moment but a little cloudy. It is very fine in Spain- the rain in Spain is falling mainly on France.

Passed these rocks, which are part of a prehistoric structure (at least that is what the sign said)
I'm now in Cajac, which is a very pretty town. There are a lot of art galleries here. The woman in the tourist information office said fort president Georges Pompidou had a holiday home here and helped to start one of the galleries because of his interest in art.

  1. I've been so busy tutoring high school maths in the holidays - the two girls' exams are this week and next - that I haven't been keeping up with your blog regularly. Just caught up today. Lovely photos with brilliant colours in the scenery - looks like much prettier scenery than in Spain last year. With the colours and the light it's easy to see why Van Gogh and the other famous artists found such inspiration in the France! Elaine

  2. Be prepared for the commercialism in Lourdes. It's a bit overpowering when the streets are lined with shops selling Mary shaped bottles for the holy water and a vast range of merchandise. But it was a very moving experience joining in the candlelight procession (when I happened to be there on August 15th) and I've never felt such peace before or since as when I went into the basilica for a service - it was absolutley beautiful!

What a small world it is - meeting a priest who knows Pastor well! I'm about to copy that part of your text to send along to my school friend Annabella who happens to be Pastor's cousin. Elaine

    1. I guess that means that there is no Test Cricket at Lourdes, only a testing of one's faith. Regards, Chris

Is that little structure a precursor of Stonehenge? The above article is by a scholar who believes the French built Stonehenge, although his theory is not supported by other archaeologists. They think he has rocks in his head. Cheers, Chris.

  4. Paul this is an Unesco protected Dolmen: dolmen de Pech Laglaire in Grealou. First roots of human history ? But like you have mentioned, seems France is sleeping. Welkom terug in het ware leven.
