The benches are in a park in front of the Cathedral of St Michael and St Gudula.
I had never heard of St Gudula, so I looked up Wikipedia and discovered she was born around 650 in the district around here. If I understand Wikipedia correctly, her Mother was a nun, I suppose things were not the same in 650.
St Gudula's mother was not a nun when she had her children. She was married. I have heard of different women becoming nuns when they have become widowed. Perhaps that was the case here. Things are not the same as in 650, but on the way to 2013 we have been continually taking nine steps forward and one step back. Nine things get better and perhaps one thing gets worse.
